Little kids. Big impact.

Kids are the future of the planet and regularly demonstrate an inspiring willingness to stand up for it. We want to empower them to do just that! We are accepting proposals from 5-12 year olds throughout the United States and Canada to support their environmental projects.

Mini-Grants for Kids

Who is eligible?

Who is eligible?

Kids in the US or Canada, between the ages of 5-12, that have a great idea related to Reforestation and are ready to make a real impact in their community.

What can you do?

Kids who are awarded the grant will use the funding for their Little Tree Hugger project. This could include anything from planting a tree to starting a community garden, organizing a letter-writing campaign at their school, and more. The sky is the limit — and as our founder says, "there are no bad ideas".

A responsible adult (that’s you, parents, guardians or teachers!) will receive the money and oversee the spending for the project. If the kid has a bank account the check can be made out directly to them. A One Tree Planted team member will also be available to help out every step of the way!

$500 in Grant Funding

If your project is selected, you will receive up to $500 in grant funding from One Tree Planted to help cover the costs of your program. This funding can be used to purchase materials (like seedlings, gloves, shovels, etc) or to cover registration fees (like permits, paperwork, etc). You can use it however you need to, we’ll just need to see your receipts!

T-shirt, Sticker, & Coloring Book

When your project is selected, you will receive a special Little Tree Hugger t-shirt and sticker to help you show off your super cool project. You will also get a coloring book just for signing up!

The grantee who demonstrates the most initiative will be invited to speak at One Tree Planted’s ForestFest TreeTalks, located in Boulder, Colorado during Earth Week 2023. This is a TED Talk style event where hundreds of industry leaders in business and forestry convene to share insights and collaborate!
